What's Plan B? For the patient with chronic otitis

15 Nov 2019
RVC Clinical Theatre 3
Plan B

Persistence or frequent flares of ear disease generates frustration for all parties, and – importantly – may cause irreversible changes of the aural structures and thus become self-perpetuating. This lecture will consider reasons for poor response to treatment and propose alternative approaches to reaching for yet another ear drop, for the four main presentations of chronic otitis: the red, itchy ear, the manky black ear, the obviously stenotic ear, and the purulent ear.
