An abnormal result for one patient can be perfectly normal for another. Moreover, a patient with a ‘normal profile can have significant pathological changes which can be easily overlooked. Elaborating on the previous lecture with a case-based approach, this presentation focuses on the key considerations which need to be taken into account when interpreting results for your individual patient.
- 1. Develop a critical view on lab data and appreciate the value of the clinical context when interpreting results.
- 2.Learn to put the principles of biological variation into action with a case-based discussion.
- 3.Recognize those analytes which are most affected by biological variation and apply an informed approach to their interpretation.
