Drug dose adjustments for emergency & critical care patients
17 Nov 2022
RVC Clinical Theatre 2
This session will discuss problems with dose adjustment in critical care patients. Many patients have organ dysfunction and these considerations can affect drug therapy.
- * Patients with decreased renal function may need dose adjustment
- * Patients with liver disease rarely have problems metabolizing drugs
- * Some critical care patients may have augmented clearance, which decreases effective drug concentrations.
