BVA/BEVA Equine Theatre

The threat of exotic equine disease arrival on our shores is ever present and has occurred on a number of occasions over the years. With vets being the first line for their identification, it is essential to remain familiar and up to date with exotic disease epidemiology to ensure their successful and timely detection.

  • -Review the epidemiology of exotic diseases
  • -Be familiar with the methods for their detection through surveillance and diagnosis
  • -Understand the current risk status for the UK from each relevant exotic disease
Speakers
Fleur Whitlock, Veterinary Surgeon and Epidemiologist - Equine Infectious Disease Surveillance, Cambridge Vet School
Richard Newton, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance - Equine Infectious Disease Surveillance, Cambridge Vet School
