Why not? Drug interactions & incompatibilities

Why not? Drug interactions & incompatibilities

18 Nov 2022
RVC Clinical Theatre 1

This session will discuss clinically important drug interactions and incompatibilities. Some drugs are incompatible when mixed prior to administration. Some drugs cause interactions due to effects on absorption, metabolism, or drug transporters. Some of these interactions are quite relevant and important, and others are inconsequential.

  • * Be careful about mixing drugs that may be incompatible prior to administration.
  • * Some drugs can affect oral absorption of other drugs
  • * Some drugs are potent metabolism inhibitors or inducers
  • * Some drugs can affect membrane transporters.
