The recovery phase of anaesthesia may be particularly risky for animals with pre-existing disease or abnormal physiology. In this session we will discuss why peri-parturient animals or those at the extremes of age require special care in the recovery period. We will also consider how to support particularly sick patients in the recovery period and how to systematically address their needs.
