Canine atopic dermatitis: Why does treatment fail?

15 Nov 2024
RVC Clinical Theatre 2
Dermatology

In this lecture, we will talk about the most common treatments for canine atopic dermatitis, their advantages, disadvantages, and adverse effects. We will then go through reasons for treatment failures. Some are inherent to and typical for some of the drugs we use. Others have to do more with communication and owner-specific reasons for failure of compliance. We will discuss those and I will share some tips of how to minimise the chance of those things happening.

Learning Outcomes
You will learn • when to use which drug • what to expect with each of those drugs • what you can do if those treatments fail
