Getting to Grips with your Multiparameter
The "Getting to Grips with Your Multiparameter" workshop at the London Vet Show, hosted by Burtons Equipment experts, offers a hands-on and approachable guide to setting up and getting the best out of your multiparameter monitor. You'll be walked through the machine’s software, with clear explanations on how to configure modules and understand the system's backend. The session covers essential tips for ECG, including how to correctly use the clips and pads, spot and remove artefacts, and the differences between 3- and 5-lead systems. You'll also explore Pulse Oximetry, with guidance on reading the plethysmograph and making the most of its features. The workshop will explain how to maintain and set up Capnography equipment, such as water traps and sampling lines, helping to prolong their shelf life. Non-invasive BP (NiBP) monitoring is discussed as well, with a focus on choosing the right cuff size based on patient weight and the proper use of the equipment. Additionally, you will also receive advice on looking after temperature probes, setting up personalised alarm profiles, and navigating the monitor’s interface to ensure you get the most out of your equipment in practice.
