Continuous advances in veterinary medicine have resulted in an increased life expectancy of our pets. The population of geriatric pets and age-associated health conditions has therefore also increased. Cognitive dysfunction syndrome is characterised by progressive altered mentation and dementia in older and geriatric patients. It is considered the veterinary analogue of human Alzheimer disease. During this session, we will emphasise why early detection is both challenging and important.
