Prescription poop: The microbiome, dysbiosis and FMT

During the this talk the role of intestinal microbiota in maintaining gut homeostasis will be reviewed. Causes and consequences of the various patterns of intestinal dysbiosis will be briefly reviewed to introduce fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) as an effective treatment option to modulate intestinal microbiome in disease. Practical key aspects of FMT will be covered ranging from donor selection and screening to case selection and FMT administration. The available scientific evidence will be reviewed, and key concepts will be reinforced through real case examples
