‘test something, no, test EVERYTHING…..STAT!’ choosing and interpreting useful diagnostics in the emergency patient
In this session we will review quick assessment, in-house diagnostics, and send-out diagnostics indicated to assess and treat emergency patients. Emphasis is on diagnostics and interpretation of results. In true emergency settings the emergency clinician must be able to quickly assess, react, plan, interpret, and treat. We will review how a thorough history and physical examination lead towards choice of initial diagnostics, how to interpret those diagnostics to help build initial treatment and the next tier of diagnostics.
