The sick mare after foaling
Foaling is an event in equine practice that can involve complications resulting in medical issues in mares that may present specifically or non specifically in the post foaling period. Making a timely diagnosis in a mare with either specific or non specific symptoms, such as colic, is essential to, directing the appropriate therapy and giving the greatest chance of survival. This talk will cover investigation and management of the sick mare post foaling focussed on "on farm" management and when and how to refer.
