Why won’t the #$@&%* tooth come out?!!!
When you are struggling with a difficult tooth extraction, it’s often because you are trying to extract a long, fragile root through a small hole.
Surgical dentistry involves removing some bone to widen the surgical access and makes root extraction much easier.
This is a very visual session aimed at general practitioners, which will discuss :
- How to construct a muco-periosteal (gingival) flap, without damaging nerves, arteries or salivary ducts.
- Removing bone safely and efficiently
- Sectioning, elevating and luxating the tooth
- Preparing the socket for closure and closing your surgical flap.
We will back up this teaching with practical training on stand after the lecture, using our cadaver replacement models. You will be able to book free of charge teaching slots by following a link from the lecture notes.
