Repetitive behaviours present a fascinating but often confusing challenge for the practitioner. Emma will outline medical conditions that can predispose to or present as repetitive behaviours and then move on to look at the use of psychopharmacology in these cases.

  • Recognise that medical conditions can predispose to development of repetitive behaviours.
  • Have an understanding of the approach to medical investigation in cases presenting with repetitive behaviours.
  • Understand how / why psychopharmacology can useful be used in the treatment of repetitive behaviours.
  • Be aware of some of the treatment options available and when they might be used.
