This practical session will provide participants with hands-on experience in the surgical management of thyroid disease in dogs and cats. Following a step-by-step demonstration of the surgical approach, attendees will perform thyroidectomy techniques under supervision. Key topics will include patient selection, surgical anatomy, preservation of the parathyroid glands, haemostasis, and management of potential complications. By the end of the session, participants will gain confidence in performing thyroidectomy and in applying decision-making principles to optimise surgical outcomes.
