This session will give you an opportunity to hear about potential reform of the Veterinary Surgeons Act (VSA) directly from those involved in developing a draft proposal. The panel will explore why regulation is required and how the current regulatory framework could evolve to become more aligned to society’s expectations for professional regulation. The panel will also discuss the benefits of regulatory reform for the veterinary surgeon and veterinary nurse professions.  

  • Understand the current veterinary regulatory framework and why this is no longer fit for purpose.
  • Understand the process involved in developing a proposal to reform the Veterinary Surgeons Act.
  • Appreciate the potential benefits for the veterinary surgeon and veterinary nurse professions of a new regulatory framework.
