Making cytology work: From lesion to diagnosis

This session will cover all the steps necessary to maximise the clinical utility of cytology, from selection of appropriate lesions and types of sample, through sample preparation and submission to staining, examination and reporting. Using these guidelines will help us to avoid the many potential pitfalls and sources of error in the journey from lesion to diagnosis, ensuring that cytological findings are as accurate as possible and correctly interpreted in the clinical context.
