It's not just the cancer: Use of supportive therapies in pets undergoing chemotherapy

20 Nov 2025
Exhibitor Showcase Theatre 3
Oncology

The quality of life of a cancer patient can be affected not only by the tumour itself, but also by the inadequate management of potential side effects associated with antitumor therapies. Therefore, a comprehensive approach is essential, ensuring the use of all supportive treatments, including pain management, anti-nausea medication, antidiarrheals, and supportive therapies in case of myelosuppression.

  • Recognise all potential causes of discomfort in the cancer patient.
  • Implement an appropriate treatment protocol for the management of side effects.
  • Monitor the quality of time during treatment.
