Gut instinct: You're never alone with a gut microbiome!

21 Nov 2025
Gallery Suite 13
Nutrition

We will look at the importance of the co-dependent relationship between the population of microorganisms in the gut and the host animal. We will also consider what happens when the population of beneficial bacteria is disrupted and steps that can be taken to help restore this population such as the use of probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics. There will also be a consideration of the interrelationship between the gut and the other organs of the body as well as the impact of ageing on the microbiome and the gut itself.

  • The importance of the gut microbiome
  • The consequences of dysbiosis on the microbiome and the gut
  • How to help support a healthy microbiome
  • What happens in the gut doesn’t stay in the gut
