In this lecture, we will review the pathophysiology of trauma, focusing on the processes of triage, emergency stabilisation, and emergency diagnostics in trauma patients. We will discuss the unique challenges involved in managing polytrauma cases and underscore the importance of teamwork and collaboration to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients

  • Implement a standardised approach to triage and assessment in patients with polytrauma.
  • Formulate a treatment plan to stabilise major body systems, including utilising point-of-care ultrasound for diagnostic purposes.
  • Understand the need effective communication and teamwork in the management of trauma cases.
