APHA update: making the most of the diagnostic services offered for farm animal species

In this talk, we will describe case examples investigated at APHA to highlight how APHA’s farm animal diagnostic service can assist vets to diagnose, control and prevent disease in farm animals, as well as how vets in practice can contribute to national disease surveillance to detect new or re-emerging animal disease threats.

  • 1.To understand the role of APHA’s farm animal diagnostic service in the identification of new or re-emerging animal disease threats.
  • 2.To understand how APHA’s diagnostic service can provide advice and support to veterinary surgeons to diagnose, control and prevent disease in farm animals.
  • 3.To understand how APHA’s diagnostic service may assist in the investigation of differential diagnoses of negated suspect notifiable disease cases.
