From the first meow: Elevating kitten care in your practice

20 Nov 2026
Gallery Suite 13
Feline

Explore how early veterinary experiences shape lifelong feline health outcomes and engagement with veterinary care. Although kittens are seen frequently by the veterinary team during their first six months of life, many are not seen regularly as adults, leaving a species that readily hides signs of pain and disease at increased risk of undetected health and welfare concerns. This clinically focused and interactive session moves beyond standard protocols to examine what truly makes a successful kitten consultation. Using a structured three-step framework, we will explore how to elevate the kitten experience through exceptional veterinary care, excellent customer care, and creating the purrfect veterinary environment for both kittens and their owners. Packed with practical tips, audience discussion, and immediately actionable strategies, this session aims to challenge current thinking around first-opinion kitten care and support more confident, clinically effective consultations.

  • Recognise how early veterinary experiences can influence lifelong feline health outcomes and engagement with veterinary care.
  • Understand the key components of a successful kitten consultation, including veterinary care, customer care, and the veterinary environment.
