Epistaxis is a common occurrence in horses and may have different aetiologies. Among common described causes of epistaxis are ethmoid hematomas, guttural pouch mycosis and skull fractures. The first part of the lecture will give an overview of the common causes of epistaxis in the horse focusing specifically on clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment. The second part of the lecture will look into specific cases of epistaxis, looking particularly at common presentations but also at more unusual cases of epistaxis in horses.
