This practical small animal surgery session will explore surgical approaches to the ventral neck and upper airway. Participants will review relevant anatomy and gain an understanding of key procedures including ventral neck exploration, thyroidectomy, temporary tracheostomy, laryngeal tie-back procedures, and introductory tracheal surgery techniques. Emphasis will be placed on surgical planning, tissue handling, anatomical landmarks, and perioperative considerations to build confidence in approaching common ventral cervical and airway procedures in clinical practice.
