An Introduction to Lung Ultrasound and Spotting CHF
This introductory ECC session explores the use of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) for rapid thoracic assessment in veterinary patients. It covers basic lung ultrasound technique, interpretation of common artefacts, and key findings associated with respiratory distress. Emphasis is placed on identifying cardiogenic pulmonary oedema and recognising congestive heart failure (CHF), supporting faster, bedside differentiation of cardiac versus non-cardiac causes of dyspnoea.
