20 Nov 2026
Gallery Suite 5

This session will explore the latest insights into feline hypertension, its diagnosis, monitoring, and clinical management. Current approaches to blood pressure measurement will be reviewed, including Doppler and high-definition oscillometric techniques, with practical tips to improve accuracy and consistency in everyday practice. The session will discuss the prevalence of hypertension in older cats and its close association with conditions such as chronic kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. Particular attention will be given to target organ damage, including ocular, cardiovascular, neurological, and renal consequences, highlighting the importance of early detection and routine blood pressure monitoring. Through practical guidance, attendees will gain confidence in identifying at-risk patients, interpreting blood pressure results, recognising hypertensive complications, and implementing evidence-based treatment strategies to improve long-term outcomes for feline patients.

  • Measure feline blood pressure accurately and consistently
  • Recognise common causes of feline hypertension
  • Identify hypertension-related target organ damage
  • Apply evidence-based treatment strategies confidently
