The chronic GI roundtable: Balancing evidence, experience and owner expectations
Chronic gastrointestinal disease is one of the most common-and frustrating- presentations in small-animal practice. Guidelines and referral-level recommendations provide valuable frameworks, but real-life decisions must also account for owner finances, treatment compliance, clinical uncertainty and access to advanced investigations. In this interactive roundtable, first-opinion and referral clinicians will work through the difficult decisions behind chronic GI cases: which tests genuinely change management, when treatment trials are appropriate, how emerging diagnostics should be interpreted, and when referral adds real value.
