Starting out as a vet is a big step, both professionally and financially. Alongside the opportunities, there is often student debt, new expenses and decisions that can be difficult to navigate early on.
This session is designed to give you a clearer sense of how your finances fit together. We will cover the basics, including how your income works, how tax is applied, what to do about debt and why protecting your income matters. We will also look at how to start building savings in a way that feels realistic.
The aim is to help you feel more on top of your finances and more confident about the decisions you are making.
- By the end of this session, you should be able to:
- •Recognise how everyday financial decisions, including borrowing and saving, can shape your longer-term financial position
- •Understand why financial protection is worth considering early, and the risks it is designed to help manage
- •Identify practical ways to get your finances organised, including managing debt, budgeting and starting to save
