Unknown origins, evolving outcomes: An update on CRGV (Alabama Rot)

19 Nov 2026
RVC Clinical Theatre 2
ECC

Cutaneous and renal glomerular vasculopathy (CRGV) continues to generate significant public anxiety, yet given its rarity many clinicians understandably remain uncertain about how to approach a suspected case. We will trace CRGV from its origins in US racing greyhounds to its emergence across the UK and Ireland, examining the aetiology, epidemiology, risk factors, and the pathological mechanisms that underpin its clinical presentation. Attendees will gain practical guidance on recognising possible cases, diagnostic plans, monitoring and treatment options. This webinar provides a comprehensive, evidence-based overview of everything currently known about this enigmatic disease.

  • Understand the likely underlying disease mechanisms
  • Summarise the current published evidence base
  • Recognise when cases should be suspected and the initial diagnostic plan and case monitoring
  • Understand treatment options available in both first opinion and referral settings
