This session will explain where we are at with understanding the dog's gastrointestinal microflora and provide a brief overview of the various gut bug functions. We will then explore what is known about gut bug function and systemic inflammation. potential to influence joint inflammation and emotional regulation. Pain and anxiety commonly overlap and the GI microbiota is likely involved in this so will also be discussed with practical considerations to apply in the chronically painful patient.
