Delta-Biomarkers expands veterinary hair analysis to PFAS, pesticides and ragwort alkaloids
A simple, non-invasive hair sample can provide complementary information about longer-term mineral balance and environmental exposure. Delta-Biomarkers combines triple-quadrupole ICP-MS, high-resolution Orbitrap mass spectrometry and AI-assisted data interpretation.
The laboratory’s analytical capabilities include minerals, toxic metals, over 200 pesticides, PFAS and pyrrolizidine alkaloids associated with ragwort exposure. The platform is designed for dogs, cats and horses, with particular relevance to environmental and equine health investigations.
Results are presented through clear digital veterinary reports designed to support clinical assessment, exposure investigations and follow-up. Hair analysis is used as a screening and decision-support tool and does not replace veterinary diagnosis.
“Our objective is to transform hair into a practical source of information about the animal exposome,” said Philippe Telouk, PhD, CNRS researcher and founder of Delta-Biomarkers. “Combining advanced mass spectrometry with intelligent data interpretation allows us to investigate exposure patterns that can be difficult to assess from a single blood or urine sample.”
