East London’s new vet clinic: Harnessing insights from New Practice Academy

Inspired by their own experiences as dog owners - and driven by a shared passion for modernising pet care - the founders of Every Tail Vets set out to create something different. They envisioned a clinic that meets the needs of today’s pet owners: accessible, stress‑free, tech‑enabled, fully equipped and thoughtfully designed for both people and animals. With support from the New Practice Academy at the London Vet Show, they turned that vision into reality. In summer 2025, they will open their first neighbourhood veterinary clinic in East Village, London.

1. Can you tell us a bit about Every Tail Vets – when you are launching and what inspired its opening?

After moving to London, we realised how hard it is to find convenient veterinary care for our dog Ozzy, often experiencing long waits for appointments. That’s why we founded Every Tail Vets - a new-generation practice that is accessible, modern and stress-free. At Every Tail Vets, we’ll provide all primary veterinary services - consultations, surgery, in-house imaging and diagnostics - right in a neighbourhood clinic. Our first clinic opens in summer 2025 in East Village, a newly developed part of east London that has never had a modern vet. Our goal is to bring high-quality, accessible care to growing yet underserved neighbourhoods across the city. We’ve designed the clinic to feel comforting and stress-free for everyone - clients, patients and our team. Technology and AI will further enhance the experience

2. What can we expect to see from Every Tail Vets in the future?

Many areas of London - and other large cities across the UK - are underserved by veterinary care. Stratford, where we live, has only one veterinary clinic, which opened decades ago, and the wait time for an appointment can exceed 10 days. Our clinic in East Village is just the first step, and we plan to open additional locations soon to make vet care more accessible. We’ll use WhatsApp to book appointments, share updates, and answer questions (we’re already receiving messages even though we haven’t opened yet!). We’ll also harness AI to automate administrative tasks - consultation notes, medical-history summaries, insurance claims, prescriptions, and more - so our team can focus on what matters most: caring for pets.

3. What made you decide to join the New Practice Academy and what were your goals at the time?

We joined the New Practice Academy to deepen our understanding of the business side of running a veterinary practice - everything from operations and team building to purchasing supplies efficiently. Our goal was to absorb as much distilled expertise as possible. Equally important, we wanted to meet people who could support us on that journey - from like-minded entrepreneurs to equipment suppliers, buying-group representatives, and more.

4. How did the New Practice Academy help shape your vision for your own practice?

It gave us the clarity and tools to define how we want to work - both in terms of patient care and internal workflows. The resources, guidance, and support have helped us feel confident as we get ready to open in summer 2025.

5. What advice would you give to someone looking to join New Practice Academy?

Make the most of it - there’s a lot to learn, and it’s a great way to lay the groundwork for your practice. The content is practical, and being surrounded by people who understand your journey makes the experience even more valuable. Meet as many people as you can, exchange contacts, ask questions, share your experiences, and enjoy a great event in great company!
