KVP Introduces BetterWrap™: A Sustainable, PLA-Based Cohesive Bandage for Veterinary Practices Worldwide
BetterWrap™ is formulated using PLA (polylactic acid), a biopolymer derived from renewable resources. After disposal, BetterWrap™ is designed to break down within 3–6 months when exposed to conditions commonly found in landfills, industrial composting facilities, or standard recycling environments. Importantly, the material remains completely shelf-stable, ensuring no premature softening, breakdown, or loss of cohesion during storage or patient application.
The product will be available globally in two core veterinary sizes:
- 2" BetterWrap – offered in bright neon colours, ideal for small animal and routine clinical use
- 4" BetterWrap – available in primary colours plus black, suited for larger patients and more robust applications
Pricing for BetterWrap™ will remain in line with current non-biodegradable veterinary wrap materials, ensuring sustainability does not come at a premium.
BetterWrap™ joins KVP’s expanding BetterGoods™ sustainability portfolio—which includes the market-leading BetterGloves™—and underscores the company’s long-term commitment to reducing the environmental impact of common veterinary consumables.
Attendees at London Vet Show can preview the product and learn more about KVP’s sustainability initiatives and global expansion strategy.
