Cats have very specific nutritional needs as their physiology has not changed in the past 2 million years.

Being natural hunters, their needs are based on what they would eat in the wild: they are not able to digest carbohydrates due to the lack of specific enzymes and they are only able to use protein as a source of energy, this making them strict carnivores.

At Schesir, we are very aware of those specific needs and we base each of our products on the physiology of the cat as a natural hunter that, despite living in our households, still maintains the biological needs of their ancestors.

Schesir Natural nutrition: a complete range, through different lifestages and conditions

We believe wet feeding better resembles a cat’s natural feeding habits, therefore we developed a whole new fish based range that, as all of our products, is minimally processed, with no preservatives and colourants and with a high intake of animal protein.

After launching the new Schesir Complete range at the beginning of the year, we can now say that we offer solutions for every lifestage and even for some special conditions cats may encounter during their life. As we know they are important members of the family we want to always be there, from the start of their life as kitten, during their adult life, when they need extra support and through to their later life.

Schesir Veterinary Solutions

Schesir Vet Line completes our range, managing cats’ most common clinical conditions with nutrition for the obligate carnivore. Schesir Veterinary Solutions are prey-inspired veterinary diets formulated to help common clinical conditions while meeting the nutritional requirements of an obligate carnivore. Macronutrient studies have shown that cats will naturally select foods that allow them to reach a balanced composition close to that of natural prey: 60-80% moisture, and on a dry matter basis: 60% protein, 22% fat and 3% carbohydrates.
