Small Animal Veterinary CPD at London Vet Show 2026

At the London Vet Show, small animal vets and veterinary nurses can explore the latest clinical insights, strengthen their practical skills and discover new professional opportunities through a programme designed for the whole practice team. 

More than 30 theatres will run across both days, including dedicated small animal clinical and veterinary nursing theatres, alongside two practical Wet Labs programmes. With more than 400 sessions across the full event, attendees can create a personalised CPD agenda around their role, interests and clinical priorities. 

Small Animal Clinical CPD from the RVC 

The London Vet Show gives veterinary professionals the opportunity to learn from leading experts working across general practice, academia, research and referral settings. 

One of the programme highlights will be a series of keynote sessions in the RVC clinical theatres from veterinary radiology specialist Dr Cathy Beck, including a session focused on thoracic radiograph interpretation. 

Thoracic radiographs are among the most valuable diagnostic tools available in practice, but interpreting them can be daunting. As Cathy explained in a recent interview with London Vet Show: “It’s so cool, but it takes time!” 

During the session, Cathy will demystify the interpretation process using a structured and systematic approach. Attendees will leave with a practical framework they can apply immediately in clinical practice - and, she hopes, a new appreciation for thoracic radiology. 

Endocrinology enthusiasts can also look forward to a newly announced session bringing together two London Vet Show favourites, Professor David Church and Professor Stijn Niessen. 

In the show’s first endocrinology mentor-and-mentee discussion, the pair will tackle some of the field’s most challenging and controversial questions, asking whether there can sometimes be more than one right answer. 

Challenges and controversies in endocrinology — can there be more than one right answer? will take place at 9am on day two in the RVC 1 Theatre. 

These sessions offer just a snapshot of the small animal clinical education available across the two-day programme. Attendees can build a schedule around the conditions they see most often, the areas in which they want to develop and the needs of their patients and practice.

Veterinary Nursing CPD and Clinical Skills 

The dedicated veterinary nursing programme is designed to champion and advance the vital role of veterinary nurses within the clinical team. 

Content will be carefully curated by organisations including RVC Nursing, the British Veterinary Nursing Association and the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists, with additional sessions from inspiring vet care. 

Covering topics including triage protocols, intravenous catheter management and wildlife care, the programme will help veterinary nurses refresh their knowledge, strengthen their clinical decision-making and develop practical skills to take back to practice. 

Sessions are created around the realities of modern veterinary nursing, supporting nurses to remain proactive, confident and central to the delivery of excellent patient care.

Hands-On Wet Labs 

Ready to build confidence in a practical procedure? 

The London Vet Show Wet Labs offer immersive, hands-on veterinary training for vets and veterinary nurses who want to develop new clinical skills in a supportive environment. 

Delivered in the Platinum Suite across both days of the show, the programme includes two session formats: 

• Wet Labs 1: four-hour, in-depth practical sessions 

• Wet Labs 2: focused 90-minute training sessions 

Working with cadaver specimens in small groups and guided by experienced veterinary specialists, participants can practise techniques and receive direct support from expert instructors – Lynda Rutherford, Charlotte Banks and James Rushton.  

Wet Lab topics include wound reconstruction, tracheostomy-tube placement, entropion surgery, point-of-care ultrasound, rabbit dentistry and local anaesthesia. 

You will leave with greater confidence, practical experience and skills that can be applied directly in practice.
