Alexandra qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1997 and until 2022, spent most of her career working mostly in small animal practice. She currently works for International Cat Care as the Cat Wellbeing and Behaviour Advisor and is a member of the International Cat Care Feline Wellbeing Panel. In 2024 Alex was awarded the RCVS Inspiration Award for her commitment educating cat owners and veterinary professionals about cat behaviour and wellbeing. Alex was diagnosed with adenomyosis and endometriosis in her late thirties, and as such she is very passionate about women's health. Alex was a BVNA Council member between 2018-2023 and spearheaded the BVNA Chronic Illness Campaign and Menopause Campaign during her time on BVNA Council.
