Alison Bard

FdSc BSc (Hons) PhD FHEA, Research Fellow, University of Bristol
Alison is a Research Fellow at Bristol Veterinary School specialising in veterinary communication, behaviour change and antimicrobial stewardship. She completed her PhD in Interdisciplinary Veterinary Science at the University of Bristol, where her research explored how veterinarians can more effectively support farmer motivation, engagement and behaviour change to improve animal health and welfare outcomes. Alison has played a leading role in introducing evidence‑based communication approaches, including Motivational Interviewing, into veterinary research, education and practice. She currently serves as Research Lead for the Veterinary Prescribing Champions Network within Arwain DGC, a Welsh Government-funded programme addressing antimicrobial resistance in livestock systems. Her work focuses on antimicrobial stewardship implementation, behaviour change and One Health collaboration across veterinary, healthcare and policy settings.
