Amelia Phillips
BSc BVSc MRCVS,
Junior Vice President,
Laboratory Animals Veterinary Association (LAVA)
Amelia graduated from Bristol Vet School in 2011 and went into mixed general practice in Suffolk. Whilst general practice taught many vital, transferrable veterinary skills, it was her introduction to in-vivo science during her intercalation degree in Pharmacology that introduced to her the field of laboratory animal veterinary medicine. When she was ready to leave general practice, Amelia took on a training post to become a Named Veterinary Surgeon (NVS). She soon after joined LAVA Council, she was LAVA Secretary for many years, and in 2025 she became Junior Vice President and will transition to President in 2027.
