Ana del Alamo
Anaesthetist, Pride Veterinary Centre, IVC Evidensia
Ana graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She underwent her residency training at Oregon State University (USA) and completed a Masters in Veterinary Science during that time. One of the most rewarding experiences during her residency was to travel to the island of Ometepe, Nicaragua, as part of a volunteer group of veterinary students and vets, to set up a free clinic in a rural community. Ana became a boarded anesthesiologist from the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2015. She then chose to work as a locum for a year at the University of Minnesota (USA) and the University College of Dublin (Ireland), before accepting a position at Pride Veterinary Centre in 2016, where she has worked since. Working in so many different countries has provided her with a broad scope of opportunities to learn and become a practical and more rounded anesthesiologist. Ana’s areas of interest are physiology and pharmacology, the critical care aspect of anaesthesia and locoregional analgesia. She also really enjoys working with nurses and students and teaching in the clinical setting with a relaxed, hands-on approach.
