In 1983, Ann graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Science from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ghent University. Straight after obtaining her degree, she started working with her husband Bart De Bruycker in the veterinary practice of my father in law. Currently she is head of the surgery at DAP 276 in Kermt- Belgium and in 2019 started a Cat Only Clinic – KatUnique. She is a board member of SAVAB (Small Animal Veterinarian Association of Belgium) for several years. Since 2014, she saterted as Belgian Director of FECAVA, the European Federation of Small Animal Veterinarians. And in 2015 she was elected into FECAVA board as Honorary Secretary. This is another great challenge to fight for the rights of veterinarians, dogs and breeders on a European level. On the 3th of September 2025, Ann was elected as FECAVA President at the FECAVA Eurocongres in Antwerp. Ann is at the same time Vice President of UEVP and representing FECAVA in the FVE Animal Welfare Working group. But overall proud of Bas, her grandson.
