Ben Benson AWCF, Master Farrier Ben Benson is the UK’s 77th Master Farrier, specialising in remedial and performance farriery and working at the highest level of international equestrian sport. With over 25 years’ experience, he works closely with veterinary surgeons and multidisciplinary teams on complex soundness, rehabilitation and performance cases. His international experience includes Lead Farrier at London 2012 and Rio 2016, Head Farrier at Tokyo 2020 and the 2025 European Eventing Championships at Blenheim, and Team Farrier for Sweden at Paris 2024 and the 2026 World Championships in Aachen. He has also served as Team Farrier for the Greek Equestrian Team, worked with Team GB programmes, and provided farriery support across the UK’s five-star events. A former President of the British Farriers and Blacksmiths Association and an Approved Training Farrier, Ben lectures internationally and has worked with BEVA delivering practical veterinary training. He is also a Brand Ambassador for Agria and Mustad, combining his clinical and performance work with education, product development and the promotion of best practice across the wider equestrian industry.
