Brian Faulkner
Veterinary Clinician and Business Consultant,
Vetology
Brian graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 1995 and worked in mixed practice before studying for an MBA at Nottingham Business School in 2001 and a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology at Nottingham University in 2010.
He has been involved in setting up 10 veterinary practices from start-ups, including Aldeburgh Vets in Suffolk, where he currently works as a clinician at least 3 days per week. He is a co-founder of Vetcentric, which co-invests and provides operational support to veterinary business partners who wish to set up their own independent practice. He is a also a co-founder of Vetpreneur, a community which connects entrepreneurs and experts in order to access the knowledge and resources required to start-up and scale-up a successful veterinary practice.
He was the Petplan Vet of the Year in 2008. He is Associate Professor in Veterinary Business at Nottingham University Vet School.
In July 2020 he was awarded the title Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (FRCVS) in recognition of outstanding contributions to the veterinary profession.
In 2017 Brian ran 10 marathons in 10 consecutive days all across the UK and Ireland and in August 2020 he ran 31 marathons in 31 days from John O’Groats to Lands End raising a combined total of over £150,000 for Brooke Animal Hospital and Street Vet.
In 2022 he was also awarded the RCVS Inspiration Award for his work with charity and support for colleagues within the profession.
Brian also set up Colourful CPD Ltd in 2017, an online CPD provider which specialises in delivering courses and qualifications relating to non-clinical CPD to veterinary professionals and practices all around the world. In 2023 he successfully sold Colourful CPD to Agilio Software with whom in continues to work as a consultant.
