Dr Bushra Abu-Helil is Head of Science and Research at BIOME9 and Head of Microbiology at Pooch & Mutt, where BIOME9 operates as its specialist microbiome division. She holds a PhD in microbiology and leads research spanning BIOME9’s GutDiscovery® platform and the Pooch & Mutt Gut Health Test. Her work combines species-level microbiome profiling, large-scale canine microbiome datasets and machine-learning approaches to investigate relationships between the gut microbiome, nutrition and health. She works across academic, veterinary and industry collaborations to translate microbiome science into practical applications, including microbiome testing, targeted nutritional interventions and evidence-based approaches to supporting canine gut health.
