Dr Charlotte Banks graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2014 and began her career in mixed veterinary practice in New Zealand. Her passion for surgery brought her back to the UK to undertake internships at Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists and the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). She completed her residency in small animal surgery at the RVC in 2023 and is now an RCVS Recognised Specialist and EBVS® European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. Charlotte is a Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery at the RVC, where her predominantly clinical role spans both orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. She enjoys the variety of this multidisciplinary role and the opportunity to manage complex surgical cases collaboratively, with particular interests in emergency surgery, trauma and wound management & reconstruction. Alongside her clinical work, Charlotte teaches undergraduate veterinary students and supervises surgical interns and residents. She has a strong focus on surgical education and practical skills development, and is committed to delivering engaging, hands-on training that builds technical confidence, develops clinical decision-making and helps veterinary surgeons translate surgical principles into practice.
