
Chris Baldwin

Chris graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2012 and undertook a 2 year rotating hospital internship at Newmarket Equine Hospital. Following completion of this internship Chris worked as an ambulatory practitioner with racehorses and sport horses. Chris completed an ECVS surgical residency from 2017 to 2020 in a large private practice hospital and completed a certificate in Equine Soft Tissue Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery. Chris worked at the Hambleton Equine Clinic before starting at the Leahurst Equine Hospital in January 2021 as a Lecture in Equine Surgery. Chris joined ECVS in 2021 becoming a EBVS® European Specialist in Large Animal Surgery. Chris has a broad range of surgical and research interests, with previous publications on carpal slab fractures and tenoscopy of the carpal extensor tendon sheathes. Chris’s main areas of interest are upper respiratory surgery, fracture fixation and abdominal surgery.
