Claire Hodgson
Co-Founder and Director,
British Veterinary Chronic Illness Support and Affinity Futures Consultancy
Claire is co-founder of Veterinary Spoonholders Facebook community and one of the founding directors of British Veterinary Chronic Illness Support (BVCIS) and Affinity Futures Consultancy, as well as a vet with over 22 years of clinical experience. She holds a CertAVP(EqMed) but pivoted back to small animals after becoming disabled with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). She now splits her time between locum work, BVCIS and Affinity Futures. A passionate advocate for those with chronic illness, disability and neurodiversity, recognising that if we are going to tackle the current mental health and burnout culture crisis we need to consider all aspects of health and wellbeing. Without including physical health and neurodiversity in the conversation we will always leave people behind.
She uses her personal experience navigating the veterinary world with chronic illness along with insights gained from the wider community to develop training and support resources that are inclusive and accessible to all. Driving change at both an individual and organisational level creates workplace that enable everyone to thrive and succeed.
