Emma qualified in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, in 1994. After which she spent 2 years in the Basic Science Department at the Royal Veterinary College before returning to her home town of Bristol where she then worked in small animal practice for 3 years. In 2003 Emma completed a residency in Veterinary Clinical Pathology at the University of Bristol Veterinary School under the tutelage of Dr Kostas Papsouliotis. In 2003 Emma was awarded the Diploma in Veterinary Clinical Pathology from the Royal College of Pathologists. In 2008 through dissertation and viva Emma became a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists. In 2008 Emma was also awarded the European Diploma in Veterinary Clinical Pathology. Emma has worked in the commercial veterinary diagnostic industry since 2003. She is particularly interested in the diagnostic utility of laboratory tests. Outside of work, much of Emma’s free time is taken up with her two daughters, but when time allows Emma enjoys walking her dog and swimming. Emma and her family currently live 7 minutes from the beach in Teignmouth, South Devon.
