Endika graduated from the University of Valencia in 2016. His interest in veterinary ophthalmology began early in his studies, when his own cat developed an eye condition. The experience sparked a fascination with the discipline and helped him realise that ophthalmology was where his passion lay. After graduating, Endika completed a rotating internship before spending several years working in different veterinary hospitals across Spain, where he continued to develop his skills and knowledge in ophthalmology. He moved to the UK in 2018 and soon decided to pursue his interest in ophthalmology further, enrolling in the three-year BSAVA Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology. He successfully completed the certificate in 2021 and was awarded Advanced Practitioner status in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2023. Endika particularly enjoys the challenges of ophthalmic cases and is passionate about making ophthalmology practical, approachable, and enjoyable for vets in first-opinion practice.
