Esther Skelly-Smith

Esther has extensive experience in equine veterinary practice and horse breeding, with a special interest in equine welfare, sports medicine, and rehabilitation. Following graduation from the University of Nottingham in 2012 she completed an equine internship at the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket. She has completed postgraduate certification in Western Veterinary Acupuncture and Chronic Pain Management, and is an internationally accredited veterinary chiropractor. In 2017 she established Shanaghan Veterinary Services which is Ireland’s first integrated equine veterinary referral service. In 2021, Esther became the first vet in Ireland to become a Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee. In 2021 she was appointed Honorary Lecturer at Queens University Belfast in Equine Welfare.
