Gemma is an RVN with 16 years experience ranging from primary care to specialist settings. She has worked at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, at the Royal Veterinary College, for 10 years. Having completed her Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care, Gemma lead the ECC nursing team between 2020-2022. Gemma was the IPC champion in the ECC department and moved to the role of QMHA IPC Manager in 2022. Gemma has been responsible for establishing, revising and disseminating IPC standards across the QMHA and providing training and education to undergraduate students, RVN and patient care assistants. She is passionate about IPC and integrating practical IPC measures into the multidisciplinary veterinary hospital environment to ensure the best level of patient and staff safety.
